We are pleased to highlight a local customer who has put a fresh new twist on the famous and beloved circa 1950s milkman deliveries! This hometown farm has launched an ambitious fresh dairy home-delivery service called “The Modern Milkman”.
The Bahler family has formed a partnership with other local farms to provide this unique service to the community. “We as farmers, believe our community deserves our products to be fresh from the farm at the highest quality” says Seth Bahler, whose family has operated the farm since the 1890s.
The Modern Milkman is an online, subscription-based box of fresh local products delivered to customers’ doorsteps each week in an insulated package and box designed and manufactured by Merrill Industries.
From “Farm to Doorstep” The Modern Milkman provides customers the freshest food possible. Each box includes glass-bottled milk, fresh eggs, a rotating variety of yogurts including skyr and Greek with seasonal flavors, an artisan cheese of the week, farm fresh butter and more local products. Customers can choose a full or half share and can customize and make changes to their box every week.
Seth Bahler emphasized; “With our high quality products, we wanted a high quality box and we were so fortunate to be able to work with Merrill Industries to get there”.
The Modern Milkman has also also formed a Food Partnership Program with Hockanum Valley Food Pantry that will enable customers to donate boxes of dairy products to local families in need. The Modern Milkman is available for delivery in the 6 surrounding towns of Ellington and hopes to open more towns as time goes on.
